The opening ceremony of training course for the chief project engineer of China Railway No.8 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. was successfully held in room 1234 of Civil Engineering Building, Jiuli campus at 8:30 am on October 18, 2021. The guests form China Railway No. 8 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. included Hu Fangping, Xu Jiang and Huang Jifu, who are the deputy director of Human Resources Department, the section chief of Human Resources Department, and the chief engineer of Engineering Management Department respectively. In addition, Zhou Xi, the deputy secretary of the Party committee of SCE of Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU), attended the opening ceremony. Du Zanhua, director of the training center of the School of Civil Engineering (SCE) of SWJTU, hosted the opening ceremony.

The ceremony began with Mr. Zhou’s welcome speech on behalf of the SCE. Mr. Zhou expressed his heartfelt thanks and warm welcome to attendees. Then he briefed the general development of SCE, and introduced the recent scientific achievements as well as the development of the continuing education and training center of the SCE. Mr. Zhou said that he hoped the training would play a positive role in promoting the talent training for China Railway No. 8 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. At last Mr. Zhou gave his sincere congratulation to the success of the training and best wishes to the trainees.

Next, Hu Fangping, the deputy director of Human Resources Department of China Railway No. 8 Engineering Group Co., Ltd., delivered a speech. Mr. Hu first thanked the SCE of SWJTU for its support to the training, and the trainees for taking the time from their tight schedules to participate in the training. Mr. Hu said: This training aims to improve the theoretical and technical as well as comprehensive abilities of the chief project engineers. In the future, the Group will continue to attract more talents and enhance talent development. Mr. Hu also stressed: Trainees should identify themselves as the chief engineers of the project and earnestly fulfill their duties; they should also constantly improve their scientific research and work abilities. Mr. Hu hoped the trainees to cherish this opportunity to develop their learning habits and improve themselves in every aspect.

After the ceremony, all the participants walked to the south gate of SWJTU for a group photo.
